During a stop on the Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday (December 13), Billie Eilish was struck in the face with a necklace thrown by someone in the crowd. The incident took place as Eilish was in a vulnerable seated position on stage, singing her Oscar-winning Barbie song, “What Was I Made For?” Fan captured footage of the moment shows Eilish flinching when the necklace hits her in the face, before tossing the item aside. The 22-year-old singer handled the incident like an old pro, finishing the song as if nothing had happened.

Eilish addressed this issue with The Hollywood Reporter at the Barbie premiere back in 2023. “I’ve been getting hit on stage with things for, like, literally six years,” Eilish said at the time. “People just get excited, and it can be dangerous. It’s absolutely infuriating when you’re up there. But you know it’s out of love, and they’re just trying to give you something. You’re in a vulnerable position, but I’ve been getting hit with stuff for years.” (Billboard)
