A 91-year old resident of North Branch, Minnesota had a regular routine. He got up every morning, went to his favorite Burger King for coffee, breakfast and fellowship with other customers. The Burger King crew knew Jerry Parkin by name and what he was going to order. He was kind of the ‘Norm’ from ‘Cheers’. Jerry sat at the same chair at the restaurant every morning…you could count on it. Sadly, he passed away recently at the age of 91. So according to KARE via CNN Newsource, a couple of the other Burger Kind regulars wanted to honor their friend by having ‘Jerry Parkin’ engraved on his favorite chair. As you’ll see in the news report from KARE/CNN below, Burger King made it happen. THIS is the kind of news story that needs to lead the nightly news everyday! We don’t need doom gloom! We need love. We need friendship. We need hope that there are still kind and loving people in this country and around the world. Well done, Burger King for allowing this to happen*
