Keith Urban is looking for the next music superstars!
The upcoming series called “The Road” is executive co-produced by Blake Shelton and follows the pair’s journey to discover the next big musician as emerging talents open for Urban at music venues across America. The audience will also have a say in which musicians get to continue on the tour and move to the next city.
“I spent a lot of my underage life playing in some seedy pubs, sometimes just for the bartender. So I love the idea of throwing artists into a real-world environment to find out if they are artists,” Urban said, per a release for the new show.
“Paying your dues sucks, but there are things in this business that can’t be taught, like how to put together a set list, whether to extend or cut a song during your performance or how to work the crowd,” said Urban.
The country star, 57, will be headlining “The Road” in the hopes of finding fresh musical talents. The show will premiere this fall on CBS. And mega TV series hit maker Taylor Sheridan is also one of the creators and producers on the project. Could we possibly see Rip and some of the other cowboys from Yellowstone popping up on the tour? I sure hope so!
