Looks like it’s back to the drawing board. Variety reports that Netflix confirmed the six-part Prince documentary has been shut down. It’s been in the works since 2018, but call it creative differences, it’s not happening…for now, anyway. Supposedly, Netflix and the Prince Estate agreed to hand things over to the estate to create and produce a new documentary. What will really be interesting is exclusive content from Prince’s archive that will give fans perhaps a better understanding of his private life. Reports claim that the first film contained “dramatic” factual inaccuracies. Okay, so fix them and move forward! I’m guessing that’s what’s going to happen next, now that the estate has taken back control. The story of this musical genius has to take place! We’ll keep you up to date as we learn more about a possible release date for this series.
Netflix has canceled the release of a six-part Prince documentary directed by Ezra Edelman ("O.J.: Made in America").
Representatives for Prince's estate had claimed it was filled with “dramatic” factual inaccuracies and “sensationalized” renderings. https://t.co/XpqFhP7mJ9
