Various types of cheese composition

There’s a national day for literally anything. National Cheese Day happens every year in June, but if you want to get even more specific… National Cheddar Day is February 13th.

One way to celebrate this year looks like buying a 40-pound block of cheddar cheese from Tillamook, who founded this holiday back in 2019. This giant cheese block is also called a “mother loaf,” which almost making buying one sound more appealing if you ask me. And you could be the proud owner of your very own mother loaf for $112 when they go on sale on Saturday, 2/13, according to Food and Wine.

Tillamook always has these blocks of cheddar for aging and then portioning, but they have never just sold the whole thing before this year.

Here’s the catch, there will only be 25 of these available on Saturday, so you’ll have to be fast. They are available starting at 10am CT.

But to answer my question of “why?” …why not?
