Nobody wants to see a sad, old jack-o-lantern while they’re trick-or-treating. So here’s a few ways to keep your pumpkin fresh until Halloween:
- make sure it’s cleaned as much as you could: don’t leave any guts or seeds inside, and make sure it’s dry
- put oil on it: apparently vegetable oil on the places you carved it can keep it moisturized so it doesn’t look accidentally extra scary
- put it in the fridge in a plastic bag, or hide it in a cool and dark place
- re hydrate it: pumpkins love moisture? if they don’t get moisturized, they shrivel up
- don’t carve it: pinterest it up and come up with some other ways to decorate it
- or, just carve it the day before or the day of (hello fellow procrastinators!)
Here and here are more ways to keep it lookin’ good until Thursday!
Happy trick-or-treating!
