Not the case for a church in the town of Shipley in Northern England. AP News reports that ‘The Wrestling Church’ combines the holy scripture with professional wrestling. It appears it was the brainchild of wrestler, Gareth Thompson, who found the Lord and began brainstorming on ways to combine biblical stories with some action in the ring. Hey, Jesus works in mysterious ways. And if this gets people to come to Sunday (or Saturday night) service, that’s a good thing, right?
