One of my favorite sitcoms growing up was ‘Three’s Company’. John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt and Suzanne Somers had great timing and chemistry. Sadly, Ritter and Somers are no longer with us, however DeWitt still is. Suzanne’s husband, Alan has been working with a company called Realbotix that has created a ‘digital twin’ of Suzanne. Her voice is the same and even her speech pattern. They’ve programed the A.I. version of Somers with many of her real memories, allowing her to answer certain questions. Supposedly this was the Three’s Company star’s idea, according to her husband. And he went on to say he’s attempting to get permission to create a John Ritter A.I. robot and perhaps create ‘additional episodes’ of ‘Three’s Company’! NO! STOP! This seems like the makings of a bad Saturday Night Live sketch. As you’ll see with the Somers robot below, she does move some, but LIKE A ROBOT! We are many, many years away from creating an A.I. robot that will move as smoothly as a human (in my opinion). Plus, I don’t want to see a robot try and recreate what John Ritter and Suzanne Somers were able to do naturally. Leave us their memories and don’t try use technology to bring them back for the TV show~
