The World’s Largest ‘Leg Lamp’ Has Been Ordered To Be Taken Down By Warner Brothers!

A tradition at the Browning home every December, like in my homes, is watching ‘A Christmas Story’ (at least four or five times!). Some many memorable lines and scenes, but probably the most notable is the famous leg lamp. ‘A major award’, as it was referred to by Ralphie’s dad. Well, a small community in Oklahoma has bragging rights for the world’s LARGEST Leg Lamp…40 feet tall! The residents of Chickasha decided a few years ago to build this tourist attraction, and it has gotten A LOT of attention. But now it appears not everyone is a fan. KOKH TV reports that Warner Brothers holds the copyright and trademark for ‘A Christmas Story’, and therefor, they want it taken down. This is absolutely stupid! As you’ll see in the news report from KOKH below, the giant leg lamp is nothing more than ‘art’. You don’t have to pay to see it, and if anything, Warner Brothers should be happy since the community sells licensed merchandise from the movie, which Warner Bros most likely gets a cut. So far it doesn’t appear that a lawsuit has been issued…so what if the small town just ignores the movie giant?
