Ozzy Osbourne could’ve been a pirate — and wife Sharon still regrets not letting him.
Sharon expressed regret about turning down the opportunity for Ozzy to audition for the role, stating, “He got offered to go and read for Pirates of the Caribbean, and I’ve never said this to anyone …. and I said no.”
Despite missing out on the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ sequel, Ozzy Osbourne has made several appearances on the big screen in films such as ‘Trick or Treat,’ ‘The Jerky Boys,’ ‘Private Parts,’ ‘Little Nicky,’ ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember,’ and ‘Ghostbusters’ (2016 version). Let me get this right. Ozzy’s reps and Sharon decided to pass on a high budget pirate movie produced by Disney but thought the almost B rated horror film “Trick or Treat” was a good idea? Check it out sometime if you want to love some cheesy horror. There’s also a cameo from Gene Simmons.
The role of Captain Teague in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ ultimately went to Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards, who was suggested by Johnny Depp for the part.
