Think back to the early 90s, when MTV at the top of their game, especially with the very successful ‘Unplugged’ program. It showcased acoustic performances from top stars of the day from Nirvana to Pearl Jam to Mariah Carrey. Ultimate Classic Rock reports that Eric Clapton’s episode has been turned into 90-minute film that will land in theaters on January 27th and 28th…and will then be available on Paramount+ on February 12th. I can remember his incredible and yet emotional performance of ‘Tears In Heaven’, which was a song about the tragic accidental death of his four year old son, Conor. ‘Layla’ was the other tune that comes to mind, as Clapton was masterful in his Unplugged performance. What’s also going to be interesting for fans in this upcoming special is interviews back in the day where ‘Slowhand’ opens up about the songs he performed for the Unplugged series. Count me in, I’ll be watching~
