While she was first known to the world as Hannah Montana on Disney Channel, Miley Cyrus has worked effortlessly throughout her entire adult career to forge her own identity as a pop artist. The 31-year old “Wrecking Ball” singer recently opened up about how Pharrell Williams has played a key part in her career to date.
From her iconic short haircut in 2012, to current music she’s still putting out, Pharrell has continued to be a mentor to Cyrus through it all.
“He was really the only one that I could kind of tell him what I really wanted, what I really wanted to make, who I really wanted to be, what I really wanted to do… I think Pharrell was perfect because it was almost like he could be a bumper for me, but he wasn’t going to be a bridle.”
