The house where America’s favorite blended family of the 70’s “lived” (well during opening credits for “The Brady Bunch” TV show) just sold for over 3 million after a major HGTV makeover and remodel. Only the exterior of the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, home was shown on the TV show because the actors used a sound stage for all of the “groovy” interiors.
The home’s interior was renovated for a HGTV series title “A Very Brady Renovation” and is now about 5,000 square feet with a second level and five bedrooms. All of the Brady kids, the actors who portrayed Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marcia, Jan and Cindy helped with a particular room during the remodel TV special. In the words of Greg Brady, it was a “far out” experience for all of the on-screen siblings.
HGTV, which renovated the interior to match that seen in the 1970s show, sold the circa-1959 house to historic house enthusiast Tina Trahan, wife of former HBO chief exec Chris Albrect, for $3.2 million. The real estate agent said her client plans to use the house on Dilling Street for charity and fundraising. Now there’s the life lesson learned in every single Brady Bunch episode! Learning to share was always an important Brady lesson.
“The Brady Bunch” aired from 1969 to 1974 on ABC. The home also appeared in the 1995 big screen film “The Brady Bunch Movie” and its sequel. The “Brady Bunch house” in Studio City is reportedly one of the most photographed homes in America and attracts about 30 fans each day. The property even has its own groovy Yelp page!
