TMZ is reporting that Sinead O’Connor has died. According to TMZ, the Irish Times were the first to make the report. The Irish Times says O’Connor’s family released a statement to them saying, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”

Sinead O’Connor was 56. Her biggest hit was a cover of the Prince song “Nothing Compares To You.” It won Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards. No cause of death has been declared. She had dealt with psychiatric issues in the past. RIP.
