If you’ve ever tried to lose weight, experts probably have advised you that even zero calorie sweeteners are not necessarily the way to go. Now the World Health Organization is saying the same thing. The WHO just issued an advisory against consuming zero calorie sweeteners, even natural sweeteners like Stevia, for weight loss and type 2 Diabetes control. The World Health Organization says zero calorie sweeteners do nothing for weight loss and type 2 Diabetes control.
In fact, the WHO’s report says there could be long term undesirable consequences to zero calorie sweetener usage and an increased risk of type 2 Diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. They suggest eating naturally sweet food like fruit for a health dose of sweet.
