According to NBC, Britney Spear’s dad, Jamie, has filed a petition to end her 13-year-long conservatorship!

But there might be more to it… The Twitter sleuths are thinking her dad is trying to avoid some accountability and paying back a LOT of money:

Britney’s dad has a bond for $47 million. If he’s found of wrongdoing, he’s responsible to pay that back. But if the conservatorship ends, her dad would no longer be under the jurisdiction of the court and no longer responsible for the bond. #FreeBritney pic.twitter.com/rlqwWfRIYT

I think we all hope that Jamie Spears is held accountable for his actions, but even if he’s not, here’s to hoping Britney is free by her 40th birthday in December!
