Marvel fans have had the chance to drool over Chris Hemsworth’s muscles many times over the past decade but what does the actual star think about them?
The 37-year-old has spent countless hours in the gym over quarantine and over the past few years, which I guarantee is more hours than I’ve spent doing anything. He told The Telegraph, “There’s an aesthetic that the role requires. Bodybuilding is seen as vanity, whereas if I put on a bunch of unhealthy weight, or got unhealthily skinny for a role, I’d probably be called a serious actor.”
So what was it like training like a superhero for the past ten years? Chris mentions that training and then having 12-hour shoot days is “a real grind.” He’s glad to have a few months off during Covid to really hone in on his workout routine.
“Having this time at home meant I explored different methods, to see how I can manipulate my body with just the right amount of powerlifting and bodybuilding workouts.”
Chris is currently on set for Thor: Love and Thunder and according to People.com, Chris says “he’s ‘probably the fittest and strongest I’ve been for all the Thors, right now after 12 months of training during the COVID-19 pandemic.'”
