If you find yourself a little further along in your life you might be realizing that you didn’t really stay in touch with old high school friends like you’d promised on graduation day. That college friends have all gotten married and had kids so they’re wrapped up in their own families. And work might not be the wealth of cool kids you had hoped you might be able to grab a drink with at happy hour. Well… it’s not just you. Scientists have found that it’s really difficult for adults to make new friends.
It’s not because you’re not friendly or totally cool to hang out with it’s because breaking into new social circles is more difficult than it looks as we get older. When people have found their “group” it’s easy to just invite only those people to the BBQ on holidays and not branch out to add new kids. BUT if you want to change that picking up a fun hobby might be the way to BFF’s. Maybe host a party where you invite a lot of friends from different social circles and have them bring a new friend too! Breaking out of your normal routine where you might meet different people gives you a chance to find new faces and hopefully make some new pals! Good luck!
