Remember the Fyre Festival — that famous, ultra-luxurious concert extravaganza that flopped in the Bahamas and all these celebrities posted an orange tile on their social media pages.
Well, here’s your chance to own some of the merchandise from the event that never happened. The U.S. Marshals Service is auctioning off 126 items from Fyre Festival. Proceeds will go to people who were scammed.
Billy McFarland – who was running the festival – defrauded investors of $26 million and over $100,000 in a fraudulent ticket-selling scheme. He was sentenced to six years in prison about two years ago. The auction (run by Texas-based Gaston & Sheehan) includes sweatpants, shirts, wristbands, and baseball caps.
I kind of want some of it.
